I'm currently doing the MIT Online Course Artificial Intelligence: Implications for your Business Strategy. A question was asked in the discussion forum, how we would define the term "intelligence". I find challenging questions like this intriguing, so here's my answer (I've cut out the accompanying text):
Intelligence to me is the ability to accumulate and conceptualize knowledge through experience, connect it to already experienced concepts, apply those concepts to new situations, make predictions and then act to achieve a certain goal. And then of course add this new experience to my memory and use it again when a new situation comes along where it might be helpful.
